This Juneteenth, the Judah Exhibition will be present at the Whitney Plantation for the 4th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival.

Held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., this free community event honors the history, culture, and resilience of Black communities through storytelling, education, and shared experience.

Set on one of the most historically significant sites in Louisiana—a museum dedicated to telling the story of slavery from the perspective of the enslaved —this gathering creates space not only for remembrance, but for reflection, connection, and forward movement.

For me, this is more than an event.

It is an alignment.

To bring the Judah Exhibition—work rooted in Black history, faith, and lived experience—into a space that exists to preserve truth… is deeply meaningful.

This is what the work was created for.

✨ What to Expect

The Juneteenth Freedom Festival will feature:

  • live performances

  • panel discussions and storytelling

  • a marketplace of Black artists and artisans

  • local food vendors and community engagement

Within this space, I will be present with pieces from the Judah Exhibition—art that speaks to:

  • memory

  • endurance

  • faith

  • and the journey from suffering into purpose

✨ Why This Matters

Juneteenth is not only a celebration of freedom.

It is a call to remember.

And remembrance requires witnesses.

Art has the ability to hold what words sometimes cannot—to make people feel what history demands we never forget.

✨ Join Me

If you are in Louisiana or the surrounding areas, I invite you to come experience this moment.

Walk the grounds. Hear the stories. Encounter the art.
